Fans inquiring about the status of Alabama basketball guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr. received another positive update this week.
On Tuesday, college basketball insider Jon Rothstein shared to X (formerly Twitter) that the fifth-year who suffered an Achilles tendon tear last November has since been cleared for non-contact work.

Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats also told Rothstein that Wrightsell has been “doing some basic basketball activities.”

Alabama basketball’s Latrell Wrightsell Jr. cleared for non-contact work
In the offseason, Wrightsell has been seen banking three-point shots in practice and, most recently, participated in boot camp-style activities at the team’s wilderness retreat in August.
Before going down with an injury that took a critical shooter from Alabama’s roster on its way to the Elite Eight, Wrightsell was averaging 11.3 points per game. He was making 42.2% of attempts from three-point range after finishing the 2023-24 season with a three-point percentage of 44.7%.
