LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Nikola Jokic’s European agent Misko Raznatovic met last week to discuss moving forward on a new international basketball league, reported Ben Horney, Daniel Roberts, and Alex Schiffer of Front Office Sports.
Speculation was initially sparked with Raznatovic posting a photo of the three together on Instagram.
Bloomberg reported last January that the league was looking for a $5 billion investment. Funding was secured from several investors in February.
The league would consist of six men’s and six women’s teams going on tour and playing in eight different cities.
Players are expected to receive equity in the league, which would be a full-time role.
The NBA is currently in also discussions over expanding into Europe, with the EuroLeague open to a possible partnership.
