Letter from the AD…2024-25 Year In Review

by

Dear Hornet Nation

As we conclude the 2024-25 academic year, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support of Bama State Athletics. Our success is a direct result of the dedication from our administration, coaches, and, most importantly, our outstanding student athletes. Your commitment enables us to perform at a high level and dominate.

This past year has been highlighted by our strategic focus on Being Prepared, Being Professional, achieving High Levels of Performance, and Dominating.

We are pleased to announce that our institution has secured the James Frank Commissioners Cup for the eighth time in the last ten years, affirming our position as the leading athletic program in the SWAC. Moreover, our women’s athletic programs have again earned the Sadie Magee/Barbara Jacket Award for the 11th time in 12 years, while our men’s programs achieved a commendable second place in the C.D. Henry Award standings.  The department also secured the SWAC Academic Achievement Award.  In addition to the SWAC Awards, our athletic programs captured three regular-season SWAC Championships, five SWAC Conference Tournament Championships, and six of our athletic programs were selected for NCAA postseason appearances.

Our student-athletes and coaches remain steadfast in their commitment to elevating Alabama State University to national recognition among premier athletic programs. I take great pride in their relentless pursuit of excellence and unwavering dedication to achieving unparalleled success throughout the 2024-25 year.

I invite you to join us on this exciting journey toward continued achievement and excellence. If you have had an opportunity to contribute to the Hornet Club, I encourage you to consider investing in our vision. Your support is essential in advancing Bama State as a leading athletics program.

“The Best is Yet to Come”

Sincerely,

Dr. Jason Cable
