Lexie Hull will replace Caitlin Clark in WNBA 3-point contest

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever‘s Lexie Hull will replace Caitlin Clark in the WNBA 3-point shooting contest Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Clark announced Thursday she will be unable to participate in this year’s WNBA skills competition and All-Star game due to a right groin injury she suffered earlier this week.

Hull, a 6-1 guard, currently ranks fourth in 3-point shooting percentage, having converted 29-of-62 attempts (46.8%). She shot 47.1% last season, just .3% off the league leader.

Hull will compete against Sonia Citron (Washington Mystics), Allisha Gray (Atlanta Dream), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty) and Kelsey Plum (LA Sparks) as the lone non-All-Star participant. Grey and Ionescu enter Friday night as the past two winners, winning in 2025 and 2024, respectively.

The Fever have not specified how long Clark will be out, or the severity of the groin injury. Clark, who missed Wednesday’s game at New York, was out for two weeks earlier this season with a left groin injury, then another two weeks with a left quad strain. In all, she’s missed 10 of the Fever’s 23 regular-season games this year.
