The New York Liberty is getting a significant boost in their quest to win another championship.
Former WNBA Finals MVP Emma Meesseman has agreed to sign with the New York Liberty, ESPN Alex Philiphou reports.

While the terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the addition is significant for a Liberty Team looking to go back-to-back.
Meeseman has put together a stellar career. She spent the better part of her career with the Washington Mystics, playing alongside Natasha Cloud and Elena Delle Donne, where she played a significant role in their 2019 Finals run, becoming the first reserve to win the Finals MVP.

Her final WNBA season was 2022, during which she averaged 12.4 points per game, 3.8 assist and 1.4 steals
She has also played overseas, representing Belgium, and helped lead their national team to a fourth-place finish at the Olympics last year.
She began the summer with the Eurobasket in Belgium. She also considered the Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury, ESPN Report.
Former league MVP Breanna Stewart publicly supported the addition, voicing her desire to play with Messeman.

There’s a void to be filled, and that [would] be helpful,” Stewart said earlier this month when asked about Meesseman’s free agency. “I think she should come.”
The Liberty are looking to become the fourth WNBA team to repeat as champions. They already boast a talented roster in the league
With the team getting Jonquel Jones back, who was sidelined with an ankle injury, and Meesseman in the fold, the Liberty’s pursuit of a second championship seems even stronger.
