The New York Liberty might be at full strength against the Phoenix Mercury in Game 2 of the teams’ first-round WNBA playoff series.
Liberty coach Sandy Brondello told reporters at practice on Tuesday, Sept. 16, that Liberty forward Breanna Stewart will be a game-time decision for Game 2 on Wednesday, Sept. 17. Stewart wasn’t a participant in practice.

Game 2 is set for 5 p.m. MST (8 p.m. ET) and will be televised on ESPN.
Stewart suffered a knee injury in overtime of Game 1 with 3:01 left, when she attempted a layup against Satou Sabally and DeWanna Bonner. As Stewart went up, she already appeared to be grimacing, and as she awkwardly landed on the court, she immediately grabbed at her left knee.
Stewart initially stayed in the game, but Brondello said that Stewart asked to be subbed out after feeling “discomfort.” She finished with 18 points.
The Mercury are heading into the elimination game with a lot of uncertainty, especially after the offense underperformed in the overtime loss.

Sabally shot 2 of 17, which was the second-lowest made field goals in WNBA playoff history with at least 15 attempts. The Mercury were also outscored by seven points in overtime, hitting only 2 of 9 field goal attempts.
Game 3 will be back in Phoenix on Sept. 19 if necessary.
