Lisa Bluder to call Iowa women’s basketball vs. Drake

Iowa women’s basketball (2-0) will have a familiar voice on the call when it plays host to Drake (1-1) inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Thursday night.

Legendary former Iowa head women’s basketball coach Lisa Bluder will be on the call as the color analyst for Thursday night’s game between the Hawkeyes and Bulldogs, alongside play-by-play voice Mike Hall on the Big Ten Network’s broadcast.

Bluder not only coached the Hawkeyes to five Big Ten tournament titles, a pair of national championship game appearances, and a record of 528-254 (262-145 Big Ten) from 2000-24, but she also led the Bulldogs for 10 seasons from 1990-2000. Bluder compiled a 187-106 record at Drake.

This will also be the first game assigned to Bluder as part of her new Big Ten Network role, which was revealed in early October.

Iowa owns a 31-25 all-time series lead over Drake and is currently riding a seven-game winning streak in the series. With many Hawkeyes and Bulldogs fans expected to tune in to the in-state Iowa-Drake matchup, tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
