LIVE updates: Follow along with all the action as Florida State battles with Miami in Week 6
Florida State may still be reeling from last week’s double-overtime loss at Virginia, but there’s no time to dwell. The Seminoles face archrival Miami on Saturday night at Doak Campbell Stadium in a game loaded with ACC title implications and state bragging rights.

The No. 18 Seminoles (3-1, 0-1 ACC) boast one of the nation’s most explosive offenses, averaging 53 points and 600 yards per game. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos has been electric, leading the FBS with 12.1 yards per attempt. The best four-game stretch by an ACC quarterback since Philip Rivers in 2002.
Florida State’s ground attack has been punishing, piling up 336.3 rushing yards per contest, the highest total by any non-service academy program. FSU hasn’t defeated a top-three opponent since the 2014 BCS National Championship, when it beat Auburn, which was then coached by current offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn.
Miami enters Tallahassee ranked No. 3 and favored. Quarterback Carson Beck, criticized during his time at Georgia, has found his stride with the Hurricanes. Beck has completed 73% of his passes while averaging 8.7 yards per attempt, leading Miami to an undefeated start. His 28-3 career record is the most wins by any quarterback since 2023.
The matchup marks the first time since 2016 that both teams are ranked in the top 20. That season, Florida State edged Miami 20-19 after blocking a late extra point. ESPN’s College GameDay heavily featured the rivalry Saturday morning, with analysts unanimously picking Miami to win, though Kirk Herbstreit abstained as he’ll call the game.

For Miami, it’s the first road test of the season and perhaps the toughest. For Florida State, it’s a must-win to stay alive in the ACC race and reclaim momentum in college football’s fiercest rivalry.
