LOOK: Jon Gruden unveils cleats Ohio State football will wear against Texas

It’s almost here. We are almost in game week mode here at Buckeyes Wire because Ohio State is just a little over a week away from breaking the seal on the 2025 college football season when it opens up against No. 1 Texas next Saturday, Aug. 30.

The environment figures to be electric, even if the game is at Noon, because Buckeye Nation seems to always show up for the biggest of games no matter when or where it’s played when a blueblood and highly ranked team is involved on the opposite sideline. Everyone will be watching, and anyone with any kind of allegiances or rooting interests from either side (queue up a thousand camera angles of Matthew McConaughey) will be full of anticipation.

When it comes to the game next Saturday, though it’s not the most important thing, we got a little peek at what cleats Ohio State will be wearing when it runs out of the tunnel to kick the season off right, and the peek behind the curtain came via Barstool Sports’ Jon Gruden.

Gruden is an Ohio native and knows all about the history of Ohio State, so it’s no surprise he was invited to the Buckeyes’ equipment room to get a look at some of the cleats OSU will be trotting out this season. You too can have a look at the reveal of several cleats, but most importantly, the sizzling kicks the Buckeye players will slip on vs. Texas.

When you play for Ohio State, you get all the goods like this. I don’t know about you, but I’m fond of all of the cleats Gruden unveiled, but those that will be worn vs. Texas are indeed the best of the bunch.
