A breakout junior year with 17.5 sacks and over 40 quarterback pressures put Lafayette on the radar for many Power Four schools. He expects to play off-ball at LSU while also being dropped in coverage.

Lafayette made an official visit to Baton Rouge on June 13, connecting with position coach Kevin Peoples. The six-foot, 230-pounder is the No. 42 prospect out of Florida and No. 34 edge in the class, per 247Sports.

A three-star recruit, Lafayette is the second edge rusher in the class, alongside Trenton Henderson and fourth defensive lineman in addition to Brown and Richard Anderson. He brings the total number of commitments to 16.

LSU’s 2026 class is sixth in the nation and fourth in the SEC, per Rivals’ Industry Rankings.
