Ole Miss finished its regular season with a 38-19 win over Mississippi State, but the game wasn’t the main story. Much of the focus was on Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, as LSU football is targeting Kiffin to fill the head coaching vacancy in Baton Rouge.
Kiffin has a choice. Stay at Ole Miss or leave for LSU. The SEC Network wasted no time asking Kiffin about his future after the game, but the Rebels’ head coach still didn’t provide much clarity.

“No I haven’t. I’ve got a lot of praying to do to figure that out tomorrow,” Kiffin told the SEC Network.
Prior to kickoff, reports indicated Florida was out of the race for Kiffin’s services, narrowing the decision to Ole Miss or LSU. LSU is prepared to offer Kiffin a contract worth nearly $100 million, but Kiffin would be well paid if he stays in Oxford, too.
LSU has spent all of its energy on wooing Kiffin. There’s been little smoke connecting LSU to other coaching candidates. The Tigers are all in on Kiffin.
