LSU football hosts elite transfer portal quarterback on visit

by

LSU football is hosting one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the transfer portal on a visit. Per On3’s Pete Nakos, former Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby arrived in Baton Rouge on Saturday night. Sorby’s LSU visit is fresh off his trip to Texas Tech.

LSU and Texas Tech are considered the two most likely landing spots for the prized passer.

247Sports ranks Sorsby as the No. 2 overall player in the transfer portal and No. 2 at his position. Lane Kiffin and LSU are in the market for a big-name quarterback and Sorsby fits that bill.

Sorsby is originally from Texas but began his collegiate career at Indiana in 2022. He spent two years with the Hoosiers before landing at Cincinnati in 2024, where he was the Bearcats QB1 for two seasons. In 2025, Sorsby emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the Big 12.

Sorsby completed 61% of his passes for 2,783 yards. He threw 26 touchdowns while only tossing five picks. Sorsby ran for 596 yards and five touchdowns, too. Sorsby is a dynamic playmaker who can deliver balls on time — that’s exactly what Kiffin and LSU OC Charlie Weis want in their offense.

As Sorsby wraps up his LSU visit, the Tigers will get a step closer to QB clarity for the 2026 season.
