LSU football finally landed a transfer portal quarterback, signing former Elon passer Landen Clark, according to a report from On3. Clark spent two years at Elon before hitting the portal. He has several years of eligibility left and was targeted by a handful of Power Four teams.
Clark was Elon’s starter in 2025, throwing for 2,314 yards and 18 touchdowns. Clark posted an 84.2 PFF offensive grade, which ranked No. 5 in the CAA. Clark was one of the top dual-threat QBs in the FCS, running for 826 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Prior to Clark’s commitment, LSU was without a scholarship QB on the roster. This is a critical first step in rebuilding the QB room. Clark was LSU’s first QB commit from the transfer portal and he likely won’t be the last. LSU continues to target Sam Leavitt and Husan Longstreet, too.
Clark likely won’t be the starter in 2026, but you can’t rule anything out at this point. Kiffin’s 2025 Ole Miss team ended up starting Trinidad Chambliss at QB, a D-II transfer. Kiffin and LSU OC Charlie Weis Jr. have a strong track record when it comes to identifying QB talent.
