LSU cleared a massive hurdle on its 2025 schedule. The Tigers upset Clemson 17-10 in week one of the college football season.
Now 1-0, the Tigers return to Baton Rouge for their home opener. They host an in-state rival that started its season in shutout fashion over a fellow Louisiana team.

LSU hosts Louisiana Tech Saturday at 6:30 PM CT inside Tiger Stadium. The Bulldogs defeated Southeastern Louisiana 24-0 in front of their home crowd in Ruston. They forced three turnovers and finished with four sacks and 11 tackles for loss.
Louisiana Tech relied heavily on its defense to generate more chances on offense. Starting linebackers Kolbe Fields (former LSU player) and Sifa Leota each finished with 13 tackles, while Mekhi Mason added 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. The Bulldogs’ front seven took care of business to open their 2025 schedule.
They’ll face an offense that clicked well against, starting up front with LSU’s offensive line. The Tigers allowed just one sack and were called for holding once against Clemson, giving quarterback Garrett Nussmeier plenty of time to find his targets.
