BATON ROUGE – After Sunday’s showdown, Kim Mulkey will have her best look at where her LSU women’s basketball team stands this season in a possible Final Four run.
No. 2 Texas (18-0, 3-0 SEC) comes calling for a top-12 royal rumble inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Sunday (2 p.m. CT, ESPN). This is the biggest home of the season to date for the Tigers (15-2, 1-2).

This Southeastern Conference contest has a host of women’s basketball stars in LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson, Mikaylah Williams and MiLaysia Fulwiley pitted against Texas’ Madison Booker and Rori Harmon.

Texas won both meetings against LSU last season, the second one a close win in the SEC Tournament semifinals in the Greenville, South Carolina.
The Tigers dropped their first two conference games to ranked opponents and they look to reverse their fortunes against the second-ranked, undefeated Longhorns. Under Mulkey, LSU has not defeated a top 12 team at 0-9 over the last four-plus seasons.
