Inter Miami striker Luis Suárez has been hit with further suspensions in Major League Soccer following his involvement in a post-match altercation during the Leagues Cup.
The league announced the decision on Monday, confirming that Suárez will serve a three-match ban in MLS.

The veteran forward had already been sanctioned by Leagues Cup organizers for his role in the confrontation, appearing to spit on a Seattle Sounders staff member after Miami’s elimination from the tournament.
MLS said the disciplinary committee reviewed the incident and determined that additional punishment was necessary, citing conduct ‘detrimental to the league’.
Suárez will serve the three-match suspension in upcoming games against Charlotte FC, Seattle Sounders in a Leagues Cup final rematch, and against D.C. United.
Neither Suárez nor Inter Miami have publicly commented on the extended ban. MLS stated that the disciplinary measures are effective immediately.

Meanwhile, Seattle staffer, Steven Lenhart, who was involved in the post-match incident, has had his ‘credential privileges’ revoked for the remainder of the 2025 MLS regular season and postseason, according to a league statement.
Lenhart will only be permitted in public seating areas during Seattle Sounders FC home matches and cannot be on or near the field of play, nor in or around the locker rooms, or tunnel.
