Lynx coach blasts refs, WNBA leadership over ‘[expletive] malpractice’

by

Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve went OFF on officials after an 84-76 loss in the WNBA playoffs to the Phoenix Mercury, with her superstar Napheesa Collier injured (Reeve called it “probably a fracture” though there’s no update beyond that).

You can watch the whole thing below, but here’s what you need to know: She noted that “One of the best players in our league shot zero free throws” and that there was too much physicality allowed.

Then there was this: “If this is what our league wants, OK. But I want to call for a change of leadership at the league level when it comes to officiating. It’s bad for the game.”

“The officiating crew that we had tonight, for the leadership to deem those three people semifinals playoff worthy, is [expletive] malpractice.”

Wow. Watch the whole thing (WARNING: There’s NSFW language ahead):

Is she right?

What’s the latest Napheesa Collier injury update?

Again, no official word after she was hobbled, so we’ll see what her status is for Game 4.
