Magomed Ankalaev’s path back to a UFC championship fight began with veteran Johnny Walker.
After fighting to a no contest toward the end of 2023, Ankalaev and Walker rebooked their clash for a UFC Fight Night in January 2024. Ankalaev only needed a little more than three minutes to put away the Brazilian in devastating fashion. Ankalaev connected with a right hook and then a brutal uppercut on Walker once he had fallen on the ground.

Ankalaev (21-1-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC) returns Oct. 4 in the UFC 320 main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Ankalaev makes his first title defense in a rematch against Alex Pereira (12-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC), whom he beat in March to win the title.
