Manel Kape believes the UFC is protecting Joshua Van from a dangerous situation in the octagon.
Van (16-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC), the current UFC flyweight champion, has recently expressed his eagerness to defend his title in a series of social media posts. He mentioned Kape (22-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC) as a potential option, along with Tatsuro Taira, who is also in the mix for a title shot.

Kape is confident he would destroy Van if they ever met inside the cage, and in fact, likened the outcome to that of a crime scene.
“Just the thought of it gives me chills,” Kape wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “They’re literally protecting you from a murder that could happen alive.”
Kape is currently on a three-fight winning streak in which he finished Bruno Silva, Asu Almabayev and Brandon Royval. At UFC 323, Van became champion by injury TKO in just 26 seconds when Alexandre Pantoja suffered an arm injury, extending his own streak to six.
The UFC currently has no title fights scheduled, aside from the secondary belt, the BMF title, which will be on the line between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira at UFC 326. The expectation is the promotion could be stacking the White House event in June with multiple championship fights, which could leave the fight cards beforehand without title bouts.
