LSU football cornerback Mansoor Delane joined the LSU record books this week, becoming the 14th unanimous All-American in LSU history.
A unanimous All-American is a player selected as a first-team All-American by all five official All-American teams. Delane met that criteria when he earned the honor from the Football Writers Association of America.

Delane was already recognized as a first-team All-American by the Associated Press, Walter Camp, Sporting News, and American Football Coaches Association.
The last Tiger to earn unanimous All-American honors before Delane was wide receiver Malik Nabers in 2023. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase earned the title in 2019. So did Grant Delpit in 2018.
The last LSU cornerback to receive the honor was Morris Claiborne in 2011.
Delane spent one year at LSU after transferring from Virginia Tech. He was a shutdown corner in 2025, finally giving LSU and defensive coordinator Blake Baker what they were looking for on the outside.

Now, Delane heads to the NFL, where he projects to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
