Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has reacted to Jimmy Kimmel's sarcastic message praising President Donald Trump. The famous host was suspended for six days, but his return to the small screen saw his ratings quadruple. The main reason for his suspension was his comments about Charlie Kirk, but Kimmel later stressed that he had no intention of offending anyone or provoking such reactions.
Kirk was a close ally of Trump and one of his biggest fans. During his public appearances, he often promoted Trump's ideals and supported his views.
Kimmel was suspended for his comments about conservatives using Kirk's death to score political points.
He also criticized Trump, comparing his grief to the reaction of a "four-year-old grieving over a goldfish."
ABC immediately reacted and suspended Kimmel's show.
However, that did not stop the public from expressing their dissatisfaction and demanding his return to TV.
Martina Navratilova was among those who reacted on social media.
Her reaction referred to Kimmel's message of thanks to Trump, and Navratilova agreed with his view that Trump's resistance was one of the main factors for the four times higher than usual ratings.
