– National Championship Coach to Be Honored at Terrapins’ Season Opener –

PHOENIX – Position Sports and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced today that legendary Maryland head coach and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Gary Williams (Class of 2014) will be honored during a special celebration at the 2025 Hall of Fame Series Baltimore on Monday, November 3, at CFG Bank Arena.

One of the most iconic figures in Maryland basketball history, Williams led the Terrapins to the 2002 NCAA National Championship, multiple Final Fours, and over 450 wins during his 22-year tenure in College Park. The tribute will recognize the two-time ACC Coach of the Year’s profound impact on the University of Maryland, the state’s basketball culture, and the sport at large.

The evening will also mark the start of Maryland’s 2025–26 season, as the Terrapins take the floor in a local showdown against Coppin State. In the night’s second matchup, Towson will face Loyola Maryland. One ticket grants fans access to both games of the doubleheader.

Tickets are on sale now at HOFSeries.com. Media credential applications are available at hoophall.com/media.

Further details regarding game times and broadcast coverage will be announced at a later date.
