Massive 2027 offensive tackle commits to in-state Texas A&M Aggies over host of early offers originally appeared on A to Z Sports.
Tyler Legacy (Tex.) offensive tackle DeMarrion Johnson announced his commitment to the Texas A&M Aggies Tuesday. The 6-foot-5, 300 pound prospect chose Mike Elko’s program over a host of notable offers including Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas Tech.
247Sports ranks Johnson as the No. 135 overall recruit in the 2027 class. He is the nation’s 12th-ranked offensive tackle and the No. 24 junior in the Lone Star State.
After telling Sam Spiegelman of Rivals he could “200-percent see myself there” when talking about Texas, the big fella from Tyler spurned the Longhorns for its bitter rival.

DeMarrion “Big Juice” Johnson is Texas A&M’s second commit in the 2027 class.
He joins four-star quarterback, Jayce Johnson. The 6-foot-3, 210 pounder from Lowndes (Ga.) is the No. 61 overall recruit in the 2027 class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the 3rd-ranked signal caller in the class and Georgia’s No. 8 junior.
247Sports’ national recruiting analyst and former college football staffer Cooper Petagna got a chance to lay eyes on Johnson earlier this year in April.
“Imposing frame for a prospect who is still 15 years of age. Physically advanced for his age and will more than likely play north of 225-230 pounds at the next level,” Petagna said. “Displays above average athleticism avoiding and escaping pressure in the pocket. Demonstrates adequate mobility as a runner. Flashes excellent arm strength with a tight, abbreviated motion, showing the ability to get the ball out quickly.

“Flashes some touch on his deep ball but will need to continue to learn how to play with touch and change velocity. Would not categorize as stiff, but does possess some upper- and lower-body tightness that can prohibit off-platform ability,” Petagna said. “Shows a natural gamer demeanor, along with the ability to play within the structure of the offense. Love his trajectory, especially with where he is in his physical development and age.
“Excelled at the Elite 11 Tampa Regional. Still needs some technical and athletic development, but one of the most physically talented QB prospects in the class at this early stage.”
