Max Muncy will be returning to the Dodgers for a ninth season after the club picked up his $10 million option for 2026, according to multiple reports. The team has not confirmed the move.
The 35-year-old infielder has been a key part of the lineup in each of the Dodgers’ three World Series runs and has made two All-Star teams in his time in Los Angeles. He missed some time in 2025 with various injuries but still hit 19 home runs and drove in 67 in 100 games. He went deep three more times in the playoffs, including a crucial homer in Game 7 of the World Series that set the stage for the Dodgers’ winning comeback.
He is the Dodgers’ franchise leader in postseason homers.
Muncy agreed to a two-year extension with the team in November of 2023, and it included the option for 2026. He made $12 million in both 2024 and 2025.
