VANCOUVER – Melissa Croden met the media Saturday after her win over Tainara Lisboa at UFC Fight Night 262.

Croden (7-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) took out Lisboa (7-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) with a third-round TKO to open up the prelims at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The Canadian fighter was making her UFC debut and got the home fans on their feet early.

Croden also kept her perfect finish rate intact. All seven of her wins have been finishes, and now six have been by knockout. After the win, she said she’s ready to make an immediate impact on the UFC’s women’s bantamweight division.

“I think (I got the division’s attention) – I don’t know … we’ll see,” Croden told MMA Junkie at her post-fight news conference. “I just went in there and fought like this is what I train to do. I always want to fight with a free heart, and I think I achieved that.

“… If a fight comes up before the year is up, I’d be ready. But I’m just happy to be here – I’m being quite honest with you.”
