The pro wrestling world has seen a lot of people take off with a jetpack strapped to them. However, none have been able to break a record like Mercedes Mone, as she held over a dozen titles at once in the pro wrestling world. This didn’t come without criticism, and she’s addressing it.
Mercedes Mone has addressed criticism about holding multiple championships during her time in AEW and around the world. Over the past two years, Mone has competed across several promotions and won titles in AEW, ROH, RevPro, CMLL, and many more from the indie wrestling scene. At one point, before she started dropping those titles, she held 13 Championship Titles.
Some fans and critics have questioned her approach, but Mone made it clear she is not concerned with the outside noise. She shared her response in Mone Mag that just dropped.
“Why would I acknowledge the critics? The goal is shown. It’s been shown. For the people that can’t see it, it’s on them.”
Mercedes Mone has also used her run to work with wrestlers and promotions that did not always a ton of exposure. As the CEO looked back on her 2025, she highlighted several opponents who stood out to her.
“One of my favorite discoveries was Aliss Link from Denmark. Her style is unlike anything I’ve experienced—creative, sharp, and unpredictable. One of my favorite independent matches of the year came against her, and trust me when I say: Aliss Link is someone you need to keep your eyes on.”
“Kanji from the UK, wrestling for RevPro, twisted me into shapes I didn’t even know my body could bend into. She proudly calls herself the female Zack Sabre Jr., and for good reason. Wrestling her felt like a high-level chess match—one I can’t wait to play again.”
“Then there’s Emersyn Jayne from Scotland. Don’t let appearances fool you. Her intensity, agility, and ferocity were unreal. She represented her country with pride, holding the Discovery Pro Championship for over 1,000 days. But as the CEO of women’s wrestling, I study my opponents like no other— and I always find a way to win.”
As of right now, Mercedes Mone still holds 10 championships. Those titles include the AEW TBS Championship, the CMLL World Women’s Championship, the Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women’s Championship, the EWA Women’s Championship in Austria, the PTW Women’s Championship in Poland, the BestYa Women’s Championship in Italy, the Bodyslam Women’s Championship in Denmark, the WPW Women’s Championship in Canada, the APAC Women’s Championship in Malaysia, and the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Championship. Only time will tell if she picks up another one before dropping one of the titles she currently holds.
We will keep a close eye on this story, because Mercedes Mone is always likely to strike up a headline at a moment’s notice. She had an incredible 2025, and it’s anyone’s guess how much noise she will make in 2026.
