It was a historic win for the Mercury, returning to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2021 after finishing off the Lynx.

Minnesota gave Phoenix its best shot, being without their star player in Napheesa Collier. The Lynx even led 68-55 going into the fourth quarter, but the Mercury exploded with a 31-13 display in the last 10 minutes to secure the victory.

Perimeter shooting and free throws played key roles in this matchup. The Mercury made 11 3-pointers with a success rate of 39.3% while making 17 free throws at a 73.9% clip. It was a smaller extent for the Lynx, making nine triples on 37.5% shooting while making just eight shots at the line.
