The Lady Chargers traveled to Morristown looking to stay atop the Mid-Hoosier Conference standings. Both offenses struggled to get going in the first half, but the Lady Chargers pulled away in the second half to post the 38-21 victory against the Lady Yellow Jackets.
North improves to 7-11 on the season and 4-0 in the MHC. Morristown drops to 8-9 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

North opened the scoring with a bucket by Jewel Verseman and a steal on the press put the Lady Chargers up early 4-0. Morristown scored the next seven points, capped by a Sawyer Rogers bucket on the fast break to give the Lady Yellow Jackets a 7-4 lead.
North closed the first quarter with five points from Jo Whitaker and bucket in the paint by Libby Crawford as the Lady Chargers led 11-7 after one quarter.
The second quarter was a struggle for both teams on the offensive end. A baseline jumper by Whitaker for North opened the scoring in the quarter. A Morristown 3-pointer cut the deficit to 13-10.
North got a free throw from Carmen Thackery and one from Verseman. Morristown’s Katie Theobald added a free throw as the teams went to the break with North leading 15-11.

North found its offense in the third quarter. The Lady Chargers poured in 16 points. North’s defense held Morristown to five points and led 31-16 heading to the fourth quarter.
Brynlee Green had the hot hand for North in the third. Green hit a 3-pointer and scored eight points for the Lady Chargers. Whitaker also drained a 3-pointer and had five points for North. Verseman added a traditional three-point play as the Lady Chargers started to pull away.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Chargers added two points to the lead and sealed the 38-21 victory. Green added another bomb to the scorebook. Thackery and Verseman both scored two points in the final eight minutes.
For the Lady Chargers, Green led the way in scoring with 13 points. Whitaker was also in double figures with 12 points. Verseman finished with eight points followed by Thackery with four points and Crawford with two points.

South Decatur
A buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Knightstown’s Lilly Drew lifted the Lady Panthers to a 50-49 victory against visiting South Decatur Tuesday.
With the win, Knightstown improves to 11-5. South falls to 7-11.
Knightstown took a 16-13 lead after the first quarter. Dalilah Martin scored four points to lead the Lady Cougars. Raegan Benge connected on a 3-pointer. Lilly Murray, Taylor Somers and Riley Benge all added a bucket for South.
The Lady Panthers added a point to the lead in the second quarter, outscoring South 13-12 to lead 29-25 at the break at the half. Riley Benge hit a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws in the quarter for South. Brynklie Ortman, Somers and Raegan Benge all added a bucket and Martin had a free throw.

South made a move in the third quarter. The Lady Cougars did not allow a field goal and gave up just two free throws while outscoring the Lady Panthers 14-2. Raegan Benge led South with five points. Martin had four points. Somers added a 3-pointer and Riley Benge rounded out the scoring with a bucket. South led 39-31 heading to the fourth quarter.
Knightstown outscored South 19-10 in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning 3-pointer by Drew to lift the Lady Panthers to the 50-49 victory.
For South, Raegan Benge tallied 16 points, six rebounds and two assists. Martin finished with 12 points and team-highs in rebounds with seven and assists with four. Riley Benge added nine points and four rebounds. Somers had eight points, four rebounds and two assists. Murray had two points and three rebounds. Ortman added two points and four rebounds. Lyndsey Shireman grabbed two rebounds.
