That’s a good way to open the NLDS. Michael Busch started Game 1 of the Cubs’ series against the Brewers with a leadoff home run on the fourth pitch from Milwaukee ace Freddy Peralta in the top of the first inning at American Family Field on Saturday.
It was Busch’s second consecutive at-bat with a home run dating back to Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against the Padres, and it was the third leadoff home run in Cubs postseason history after Dexter Fowler in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series and Bob Dernier in Game 1 of the 1984 NLCS.
