Michigan football drops in Week 5 coaches poll while rivals rise in updated rankings

by

Michigan football was idle in Week 5, but college football was full of ranked matchups and, frankly, chaos, this past weekend. With a 3-1 record and a win over unranked Nebraska, it would be enough to keep the Wolverines ranked, but would the maize and blue rise, fall, or stay where they were?

The coaches voted, and thus, the US LBM Coaches Poll was released on Sunday. Michigan ended up falling two spots, despite not playing, to No. 20. The opponent in two weeks, USC, fell out of the rankings after losing at Illinois. Ohio State is still No. 1, and the Wolverines’ sole loss, Oklahoma, is now up to No. 8 (despite also being idle).
