Michigan State basketball is adding an in-state opponent with a familiar face on the bench to their 2025-26 schedule, renewing an old series between the two.
Michigan State ill be hosting the Detroit Mercy Titans at the Breslin Center on Friday, Nov. 21, for the first matchup between the two schools since 2020. The Spartans won the 2020 meeting, 83-76.

An interesting matchup between the two schools is centered around Titans head coach Mark Montgomery, who is a Spartan alum and former MSU assistant coach. As always, Izzo will love bringing a friend and former assistant back to campus for an in-state showdown.
