Michigan State basketball to host Arkansas, John Calipari at Breslin Center this fall

by

Add another marquee opponent to Michigan State basketball’s schedule for 2025-26.

And another Hall of Fame coach on the bench opposite Tom Izzo.

The Spartans announced they will host Arkansas for a nonconference game Saturday, Nov. 8, at Breslin Center, part of a two-year, home-and-home series with the Razorbacks. MSU will play in Fayetteville, Arkansas, next season.

John Calipari will be in his second season leading Arkansas. This will be the sixth meeting between him and Izzo, with Calipari owning a 3-2 record with wins while at Kentucky and Memphis. The Spartans beat Calipari and the Wildcats in their last meeting, an 86-77 double-overtime win over Kentucky in the 2022 Champions Classic in Indianapolis.

MSU owns a 2-0 record all-time against Arkansas, including Izzo’s win in his first season as coach over the defending national champions in the last meeting in the “Great Eight” at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Nov. 28, 1995.

Ticket information and television for the game will be announced at a later date.

The Spartans will travel to Connecticut for an exhibition game Wednesday, Oct. 29. They open the season Monday, Nov. 3 against Colgate before hosting Arkansas. MSU also has nonconference games scheduled against Kentucky in the Champions Classic (Nov. 18), at home against Detroit (Nov. 21), against East Carolina and North Carolina in the Fort Myers Tip-Off (Nov. 23-25) and at home against Duke (Dec. 6).
