One of the Spartans‘ top players on the offense has been named to a notable award’s watchlist.

Michigan State starting center Matt Gulbin has been named to the Rimington Trophy Watchlist after a strong start to the 2025 season. The Rimington Trophy is annually awarded to the top center in college football.

Gulbin is in his first season with the Spartans after transferring from Wake Forest this past offseason. He has a Pro Football Focus offensive grade of 86.3 — which ranks No. 1 among all power four centers this year.

The Rimington Trophy will be awarded at the end of the season. Hopefully, Gulbin continues his strong play and remains in the mix for this prestigious award at the end of the year.
