Michigan State football has officially extended an offer to a legacy commitment.

Adam Shaw of Hillsdale, N.J. announced on Saturday that he’s received his official offer from Michigan State. Shaw — who flipped his commitment from Rutgers to Michigan State in June — shared a post on social media X about the official offer from the Spartans.

August 1 is the first day for schools to extend official offers to prospects in the 2026 class.

Shaw is a three-star linebacker prospect, with a recruiting rating of 88 in 247Sports’ rating system. He ranks as the No. 44 linebacker and No. 16 player from New Jersey in the 2026 class.

Shaw is a Spartans legacy, with his dad, Scott Shaw, playing for Michigan State in the 1990s.

Michigan State is one of nearly 20 schools to offer Shaw, according to 247Sports. He was notably being recruited by Rutgers, Pitt and Michigan State before selecting the Spartans.
