Michigan State women’s basketball wins big over Temple in Bahamas

Grace VanSlooten recorded her first double-double of the season and Marah Dykstra had her first double-figures scoring game of the season while helping the Michigan State women’s basketball team open the Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship with a win over Temple.

VanSlooten had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Dykstra had a season-high 11 points for the No. 21-ranked Spartans to an 85-50 victory over the Owls on Friday, Nov. 28.

Rashunda Jones led MSU (7-0) with a game- and season-high 18 points in their first game away from Breslin Center.

The Spartans had an 18-12 lead after the opening quarter before going on a 12-0 run to start the second while building a double-digit advantage.

MSU shot 56.2% in the second half while pulling away to win a seventh game by at least 30 points this season.

The Spartans will close their time in the Bahama against either Clemson or Western Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 30.

Saniyah Craig had 11 points to lead Temple, which dropped to 3-4.
