Middleweight contenders headline intriguing UFC Houston card

by

UFC Houston is loaded up.

The UFC officially announced 11 fights for its upcoming card in Houston on Feb. 21, a show headlined by former middleweight champion Sean Strickland opposite surging contender Anthony Hernandez.

Aside from an exciting contest between veteran 145-pounder Dan Ige and rising talent Melquizael Costa and TUF 30 winner Juliana Miller taking on Carli Judice, both reported first by MMA Fighting, the card sees top-ranked heavyweight Serghei Spivac battle former PFL champion Ante Delija, a clash between fighters attempting to rebound from defeats to Waldo Cortes-Acosta.

Michel Pereira make his 15th walk to the octagon to face Zachary Reese with his back against the wall after three losses in a row against “Fluffy” Hernandez, Abus Magomedov and Kyle Daukaus. Reese has lost only twice in seven UFC appearances, and stopped Jackson McVey with a rear-naked choke in his most recent bout to cash a $50,000 performance bonus.

Nora Cornolle and Joselyne Edwards clash in a rematch to see who climbs closer to the top 10 of the bantamweight division. In their first fight in September 2023, Edwards defeated Cornolle via unanimous decision.

Cornolle lost her most recent bout to Karol Rosa in August 2025, while Edwards looks for her fourth straight victory after finishing Tamires Vidal, Chelsea Chandler and Priscila Cachoeira.

A long list of Dana White’s Contender Series signings complete the card with featherweight Jordan Leavitt taking on Yadier del Valle, plus a trio of welterweight contests, Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani vs. Austin Vanderford, Jacobe Smith vs. Seokhyeon Ko, and Chidi Njokuani vs. Carlos Leal.

Two flyweight bouts were also made official by the promotion with Houston’s own Alden Coria returning from a vicious finish of Alessandro Costa to take on DWCS signing Luis Gurule, and The Ultimate Fighter 33 flyweight finalist Alibi Idiris seeking his first UFC victory when he takes on 12-time octagon veteran Ode Osbourne.
