“Proper” is looking to be violent.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight Mike Malott collides with No. 15-ranked Kevin Holland in the co-main event of UFC Vancouver this weekend (Sat., Oct. 18, 2025) inside Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
While there are more meaningful matchups on the ESPN+ card, including other high-ranked fights, Holland vs. Malott earns the co-main slot for one simple reason — both men bring guaranteed chaos. They’re finishers by nature, and Malott vows to stop “Big Mouth” and steal his spot in the Top 15 rankings.
“I’m one of the most dangerous guys in the UFC,” Malott told UFC.com during UFC Vancouver media day. “If you look at my record, it’s split down the middle between submissions and knockouts — and now I’ve got one decision win. I’m well-rounded. I can knock guys out; I proved that in my last fight. I’ve got that one-punch knockout power, and I can sit dangerous dudes down.”
“Then I can go out and submit people,” Malott added. “The two fighters I’ve submitted — three if you count Contender Series — had never been submitted before. So, I’m tapping guys that no one could tap, knocking out high-level strikers, and showing I can win decisions. No matter where this fight goes, I can finish him or pick this guy apart and outclass him.”
Aside from his loss to Neil Magny — where he was winning until the final minutes (watch highlights) — Malott has been nearly flawless inside the Octagon and is emerging as someone to watch in the Welterweight division.
