MJF Officially Cast in ‘Violent Night 2’ While Balancing Insane Travel and AEW Commitments

by

AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman is officially part of the upcoming action sequel Violent Night 2, now confirmed by Deadline. But despite landing another Hollywood role, MJF isn’t slowing down his wrestling schedule one bit.

According to Fightful Select, MJF has been grinding nonstop. After marrying his longtime partner on September 5, he showed up the very next day at AEW Collision in Philadelphia—no honeymoon, no days off. From there, he jetted to Winnipeg to begin filming Violent Night 2.

He isn’t expected to appear on AEW Dynamite this week due to filming, but he’ll be back in Philadelphia for the Collision tapings on September 11, only to return to Winnipeg again afterward to continue the shoot.

Then it’s straight to Mexico City, where he’s scheduled to main event the CMLL Anniversary event alongside Mistico, one of Mexico’s most iconic luchadors.

After the international showdown, MJF flies to Toronto for AEW All Out, where he’ll face Mark Briscoe. Once the pay-per-view wraps, he’ll catch yet another flight—back to Winnipeg—to resume filming Violent Night 2.

While his role in the film hasn’t been revealed yet, the sequel to the 2022 holiday action movie promises more brutal, chaotic fun, with Santa Claus once again dishing out punishment on those who land on the naughty list.

MJF’s Hollywood résumé already includes The Iron Claw and Happy Gilmore 2, and now Violent Night 2 adds another major production to his growing list. He’s proving that he can dominate in the ring and in front of the camera, all while refusing to slow down.

What do you think about MJF’s relentless schedule and growing film career? Should he keep balancing both worlds, or focus on one? Let us know in the comments below.
