While Maryland womenβs basketballβs game against Central Connecticut State likely did not greatly affect the Terps in the national rankings β they remain No. 7 in the AP poll β it was an excellent time for a breakout game.
Yarden Garzon had an excellent performance for the Terps which was rewarded with the Big Tenβs player of the week honor. The senior scored 25 points, her most of the season, and contributed seven rebounds and two assists. Most crucially, the sharpshooter was on fire β Garzon went 7-of-16 from deep.

The Indiana transfer took some time to find her feet in College Park but has come on strong in recent games. With several other guards injured, her presence and experience will only become more valuable for the Terps.
Maryland next plays Dec. 29, when they will host Wisconsin at Xfinity Center.
