Mohammed Siraj pulls off superhero fielding effort to deny Matt Renshaw a six, Virat Kohli stunned

Mohammed Siraj turned Superman as he pulled back a ball travelling over his head for a six by Matt Renshaw off Washington Sundar’s bowling. He denied Renshaw his first international six in ODI cricket on his debut match.

Australia has been dominating India in the first ODI in Perth. The Aussie bowlers clearly dominated the Men in Blue with the ball, as Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc never let the Indian top order settle, and later the spinner Kunhemann and all-rounder Owen picked the vital wickets of the set Indian batters.

After a captivating show with the ball, the Aussies had the upper hand in the batting innings as well, with skipper Mitchell Marsh leading from the front. Australia finished the chase comfortably with several balls remaining.

The Australians dominated, but Indian bowlers also picked up some wickets from time to time. Josh Philippe and Marsh seemed to take the game away in that half-century partnership, but Washington Sundar came in to deliver a breakthrough at the right time.

As he departed, debutant Matt Renshaw came in to bat at no. 5 for the Aussies; he was brought in as a replacement for injured Cameron Green. Renshaw struggled initially, but then launched the second ball of the 17th over from Washington Sundar straight over the fielder’s head.

Renshaw walked down the track and lofted the ball over long-off’s head, but Siraj arched back to catch it and then threw it back into the ropes with a one-handed attempt. The six were converted to just one run.
