It has been a rough stretch of games for the Spartans recently, which has resulted in them starting to slip in two of the most notable rating systems in college basketball.
Michigan State has lost three of their last four games, with the most recent defeat coming at Wisconsin in blowout fashion. The Spartans trailed essentially the entire game en route to a 20-plus point loss to the Badgers.

With the loss to Wisconsin, Michigan State is now 20-5 overall and 10-4 in Big Ten play. The Spartans are still looking like a lock to reach the NCAA Tournament this year, but how has the recent slump impacted their ratings in KenPom and NET? Well, they’ve started to slide in both.
Through games on Saturday, Michigan State sits at No. 13 in the KenPom rankings. For NET, Michigan State is a few spots lower at No. 15 in those rankings.
Michigan State will look to get things back on track next week with a pair of home games ahead. The Spartans will first play UCLA on Tuesday night before Ohio State comes to town on Sunday. The Spartans could really use wins in both of those games to help bolster their NCAA Tournament resume and start moving back up the rankings.
