The NET rankings are one of the tools used by the selection committee for the NCAA Tournament. There are other factors as well, but this is certainly a notable ratings system that you want to be ranked high in when the selection process rolls around in March.
Michigan State is 10-1 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten games so far this season. The Spartans are in the midst of a two-game winning streak, which included a blowout victory over Toledo on Tuesday.
