A fire destroyed the home of Denny Hamlin’s parents in Gaston County, North Carolina on Dec. 28.
The fire, which had already destroyed 40% of the home by the time fire crews arrived, took two hours to extinguish, according to authorities. Two people were hospitalized, though their names were not released.
According to public records, the home is owned by Hamlin’s real estate company, Won One Real Estate.
Hamlin, 45, has been a professional NASCAR driver since 2004. He won NASCAR’s 2006 Cup Series rookie of the year and is a three-time winner of the Daytona 500.
Hamlin finished second in the 2025 NASCAR standings, losing to champion Kyle Larson by four points. He won six races and had 14 top five finishes this season.
Hamlin also co-owns the 23XI Racing NASCAR team with NBA legend Michael Jordan. Earlier this month, the team settled a multimillion-dollar antitrust lawsuit it and Front Row Motorsports filed against NASCAR.
