NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart will race trucks at Daytona

Tony Stewart will be back behind the wheel at Daytona.

The NASCAR Hall of Famer will compete in the Craftsman Truck Series on Feb. 13 at Daytona International Speedway. He will drive Kaulig Racing’s No. 25 truck.

Stewart is participating in Kaulig’s new Free Agent Driver Program.

“I’ve raced just about everything with four wheels at Daytona, but never a truck. So when a seat in the new Ram was offered up for their first race back in NASCAR, I didn’t hesitate,” Stewart, 54, said in a release. “Ram’s Free Agent program is another great way for me to stay sharp and have a little fun.”

It will be the first time the three-time Cup champion has competed in a NASCAR race since being in the National Series in 2016. His most recent NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start was in 2005.

Stewart won twice in the Truck Series during his career, with both at Richmond in 2002 and 2003.

Stewart was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2020. He won the Cup championship in 2002, 2005 and 2011.
