NASCAR has moved up the Daytona 500 start time on Feb. 15 at Daytona International Speedway with an anticipated weather threat during the afternoon, the sanctioning body announced on Feb. 14.
The green flag start time has moved up to 1:30 p.m. Eastern/12:30 p.m. Central.

The National Weather Service calls for rain chances to increase after 1 p.m. on Feb. 15, at a 50% chance of precipitation. Those chances stay the same until 7 p.m., when rain chances increase to 91% through the rest of the night.
NASCAR has had some recent bad weather luck with its marquee race. The Daytona 500 was postponed to a Monday finish on 2024 and featured a lengthy rain delay in 2025.
