Natalia Silva vs. Rose Namajunas UFC 324 preview
Silva (19-5-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) has defeated every UFC opponent thus far, and enters a fight against a third consecutive former champion. Her last appearance was a unanimous decision win over Alexa Grasso at UFC 315, which came after a Fight of the Night decision win over Jessica Andrade.

Former strawweight champ Namajunas (14-7 MMA, 12-6 UFC) has experienced her share of ups and downs since moving up to flyweight. Overall, she’s 3-2 at 125 pounds and enters after a unanimous decision win over Miranda Maverick, which came in June.

Filling out the main card is an important women’s flyweight bout between Natalia Silva and Rose Namajunas.
Namajunas was initially slated to face Alexa Grasso, but I’d argue that this fight is more meaningful for the division. In fact, I actually would prefer this fight as a five-round main event feature in the Apex due to the stakes – but I digress.

The smaller octagon of the Apex would favor Namajunas, but the larger cage that both ladies will be fighting in this Saturday arguably favors the footwork of Silva.
Namajunas is no slouch in the footwork department herself, I’m just not sure she’ll be able to match the speed, tenacity and overall output from Silva. And though I think that Namajunas could surprise Silva with some grappling, the former strawweight champion still seems to lack the needed confidence in her wrestling despite her clear improvements in that area.
I suspect that Namajunas could be in for a rough night, but her staying power shouldn’t be overlooked. I’ll pick Silva to win a competitive decision on the scorecards.
