Nate Ament available, Bishop Boswell out for Tennessee basketball vs North Florida

Nate Ament is available for Tennessee basketball against North Florida, but Bishop Boswell is not expected to play as the pair of Vols battle minor injuries.

Boswell is sidelined with a right foot injury as the No. 18 Vols (2-0) face North Florida (0-1) on Nov. 12 (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network+) at Food City Center. Vols coach Rick Barnes indicated Boswell’s foot was stepped on during UT’s 95-56 win against Northern Kentucky on Nov. 8.

Ament is dealing with a left ankle injury.

Both were partial participants in practice on Nov. 11, which was deemed a precautionary measure.

Both started the first two games for Tennessee.

Ament is averaging 20.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for the Vols after two games. He had 18 points and nine rebounds in his debut against Mercer on Nov. 3. He followed up with 23 points, eight rebounds and five assists against Northern Kentucky on Nov. 8.

The 6-foot-10 Ament signed as the highest-rated recruit in program history in the 2025 class. He was the No. 4 prospect and a five-star in the 247Sports Composite.

The 6-4 Boswell is averaging 5.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. The sophomore is shooting 60% on 3-pointers.
