Nate Bargatze pulled out his recruiting hat on ESPN’s “College GameDay” on Oct. 25.
Bargatze, a comedian who has appeared on “GameDay” multiple times, is a Nashville native and an avid Vanderbilt fan. He called for five-star 2026 quarterback Jared Curtis to commit to the Commodores on the show.

Curtis, who’s currently committed to Georgia, is visiting Vanderbilt alongside a teammate for the Commodores’ game against Missouri.
“Just remind Jared Curtis how much I would love for you to Vanderbilt,” Bargatze said. “We’re local kids, we’ll become best friends, bud.”
Curtis would easily be one of the top recruits in Vanderbilt history, should he surprisingly flip his commitment at any point. The Nashville Christian High School product is the No. 4-ranked player nationally and No. 1 quarterback, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Curtis was also at Vanderbilt practice on Oct. 22, according to The Tennessean.
Bargatze, of course, chose Vandy to beat Missouri on Oct. 25, in a game that could prove massive for the Commodores’ College Football Playoff chances.
Curtis is looking to break the TSSAA all-time passing touchdown record of 131, which was set by Charlie High in 2012. He would be quite the successor to Diego Pavia, a Heisman Trophy candidate in 2025.
