Our first opportunity to see the 2026 men’s and women’s basketball teams will come in Greensboro on Sunday, Oct. 26. The women will take on Maryland at 2 p.m., followed by the men against South Carolina at 4:30. Tickets will be available on Friday.
Maryland back in Greensboro? Be still, Gary Williams’ heart!

South Carolina is coming off a 12-20 season and a last-place finish in the SEC, though the Gamecocks were a solid No. 69 (nice) in the Pomeroy Ratings. Maryland went 25-8, earned a four-seed in the NCAA tournament, and reached the Sweet Sixteen. Pretty good chance State wins both games, though I’d imagine there will be a lot of lineup experimentation all around, which will add uncertainty to the outcomes.
Not sure if these games are going to merit televised coverage, but one can hope.
