The first run of the meet produced some excitement (all score are combined men’s and women’s scores). Auburn’s margin of victory over Minnesota was just seven points. The Tigers claimed a 1-2 in the women’s 400 medley relay, then won the men’s 400 medley relay to cap it.

Georgia’s win over Auburn was just about as tight, with a 400-382 victory. A late 200 individual medley 1-2 from Georgia’s Ieva Maluka and Marie Landreneau was pivotal in that one. Georgia’s men’s 400 medley relay sealed it with an NCAA cut of 3:02.66 with the quartet of Ruard van Renen (an NCAA cut of 45.02 off the front in the 100 back), Elliot Woodburn, Luca Urlando and Tomas Koski.

It produced some fast swimming. Georgia Tech’s Giovana Reis, for instance, set the program record in the women’s 200 free, her time of 1:45.20 downing the mark set by Iris Wang in 2018.

Army’s Angie McKane set a program record in the women’s 100 fly of 52.10 to hit the NCAA standard. The Black Knights’ Johnny Crush won three events across the two meets.

For Georgia, Kennedi Dobson (200 back, 200 IM) and Koski (200 free, 50 free) won twice against GW. Urlando went 44.94 in the 100 fly in that race, setting the second-fastest time in the country this season. His 100 free time of 42.17 against Auburn moved him into the top 10 in program history. Maluka earned an NCAA cut in the 200 IM of 1:57.68 while winning the 200 fly.

Florida State diver Kayleigh Clark won three of her springboard titles. Michel Arkhangelsky and Mathias Christensen won two events each against Army, a meet in which Maryn McDade won the 50 free with a time of 22.33 that ranks fourth in program history. She improved that to 22.31 vs. NC State.

NC State ran the table on the women’s side in the meet against NC State. Erika Pelaez won the 100 back, Kennedy Noble was second to Leah Shackley in the 200 fly and to Lisa Nystrand in the 200 IM after Nystrand was second to Eneli Jefimova in the 200 breast.

Minnesota got a pair of wins from each Elna Widerstrom and Katie McCarthy in the loss to Auburn. Both swept two events against GW, with Drew Bennett adding two wins.
